Response of an Unruh-DeWitt detector near an extremal black hole

چکیده
We consider the response of an Unruh-DeWitt detector near extremal charged black hole, modeling near-horizon region this spacetime by Bertotti-Robinson spacetime. The advantage employing limit is that two-point functions for a massless scalar field are obtainable in closed form number quantum states interest. coupled to both Boulware vacuum state and arbitrary thermal states, including Hartle-Hawking state, analyse detector's broad range trajectories. Particular attention paid thermalization detector, anti-Unruh anti-Hawking effect.

Near-Extremal Black Hole Entropy and Fluctuating 3-Branes
We discuss the known microscopic interpretations of the Bekenstein-Hawking entropy for configurations of intersecting M-branes. In some cases the entropy scales as that of a massless field theory on the intersection. A different situation, found for configurations which reduce to 1-charge D = 5 black holes or 2-charge D = 4 black holes, is explained by a gas of non-critical strings at their Hag...
متن کاملNon-extremal Stringy Black Hole
We construct a four-dimensional BPS saturated heterotic string solution from the Taub-NUT solution. It is a non-extremal black hole solution since its Euler number is non-zero. We evaluate its black hole entropy semiclassically. We discuss the relation between the black hole entropy and the degeneracy of string states. The entropy of our string solution can be understood as the microscopic entr...
متن کاملInhomogeneous Near-extremal Black Branes
It has recently been shown that there exist stable inhomogeneous neutral black strings in higher dimensional gravity. These solutions were motivated by the fact that the corresponding homogeneous solutions are unstable. We show that there exist new inhomogeneous black string and black p-brane solutions even when the corresponding translationally invariant solutions are stable. In particular, we...
متن کاملBreaking an Abelian gauge symmetry near a black hole horizon
I argue that coupling the Abelian Higgs model to gravity plus a negative cosmological constant leads to black holes which spontaneously break the gauge invariance via a charged scalar condensate slightly outside their horizon. This suggests that black holes can superconduct.
متن کاملOutflows Near An Accreting Black Hole: Ionization and Temperature Structures
We calculate the temperature and ionization balance in an outflow from an accreting black hole under illumination by hard radiation from the central object. Electron scattering of the FeKα photons within the highly ionized expanding flow leads to a decrease of their energy (redshift) which is of first order in v/c, when v is the outflow velocity (v is much less than the speed of light c). This ...
